Since a Japanese scientist's invention of synthetic blood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. And while humans have been safely removed from the menu, many people remain apprehensive about vampires living amongst them in Louisiana.
In the town of Bon Tempe, local barmaid Sookie Stackhouse has telepathic ability which she tries to keep to herself. Because of her ability and her understanding of feeling like an outcast, she chooses to hang out with vampires. Due to the making of True Blood, a synthetic Japanese-made blood, vampires are known in the world and are accepted to live among humans, however that doesn't mean people aren't going to feel uneasy about it.
